About the Author

Wayne is a father, an explorer at heart, and a lifelong lover of science. Having lived and worked around the world, he has always been driven by curiosity about how things work. He believes that teaching science is really about teaching something deeper: how to think clearly, question confidently, stay curious, and approach the world with both wonder and reason. Through these books, he hopes to give children,  including his own daughter,  the tools to explore boldly, think independently, and grow into thoughtful, capable human beings.

Why Astro & B.O.B.?

Astro & B.O.B. was created to spark curiosity early. Children don’t need to wait until Year 7 to start thinking about gravity, waves, atoms, or electricity. The world is already full of clues. By seeing Earth through the eyes of a curious alien explorer and his steady robotic mentor, young readers are encouraged to ask questions, notice patterns, and realise that science isn’t distant or difficult — it’s happening all around them.
